GOD’S EATERS/ documentary/ 2012 / 14min / dir. Anastasija Piroženko
When the prayers subside and the ceremony ends, a table emerges at the center of the church. Plates are arranged, food appears, and the shared meal becomes an extension of the sacred space. In this small Orthodox church in Trakai, Lithuania, the custom is brought to life on screen through solemn, deliberately stylized images bathed in natural light, blending seamlessly with the church’s atmosphere. The work meditates on the fragile boundary between ritual sanctity and everyday life.
